Artist's Description

This picture was taken by a promaster 2500 manual camera and 3200 ISO film and developed in the darkroom. This picture was taken at bali's beautiful black sand beach, Pantai pasir Hitam. I was there with my martial arts (punchak silat) group where people from different countries came for 10 days and stayed near by. We all went to the black sand beach one day all dressed in white silat uniform. It was a beautiful day and amazing site with people clad in white dresses on a black sand beach. Everyone was playing and doing acrobatics and this was one of my friends and fellow martial artist who did somersalt on the beach and I took the picture.

My art was born out of the need to create symmetry out of asymmetry, harmony out of disharmony and order out of chaos in the explosively violent world where life itself has become an industrial commodity to satisfy the lust of the consumer, capitalistic world overpowered by the greed,...
