Artist's Description

This drawing was done in pencil colors on a 11 x 11" Strathmor Smooth paper. I really had fun creating this piece of art. The color and the whole design was very intuitive, spontaneous and meditative. I especially love to draw the lines and see where they take me and modulating them in different ways creates more of a 3 D effect like a topography. Then suddenly, I was able to sense the presence of the elephant and birds that I made more prominent later. Hope you will enjoy th...

About Mukta Gupta

Mukta Gupta

I was born in small town in India, at the border of a northwestern desert state of Rajasthan. My art was born out of the need to create symmetry out of asymmetry, harmony out of disharmony and order out of chaos in the explosively violent world where life itself has become an industrial commodity to satisfy the lust of the consumer, capitalistic world overpowered by the greed,...
