Description
Again there is another story connected to this piece of art. I was living in this house that was like a treehouse, thought it wasn't built in a tree itself but it was built on the side of a mountain each room at a different level with the incline of the mountain. It was built on a really steep hill, took me around 15 minutes to walk up from the bus stop with all my bags on a steep hill and then around 100 steps to climb up trail. I absolutely liked the architecture and the lights and shadows in the house given to my artistic bend of mind and I loved the view from the deck of my room that I rented for 5 years even though the house was not maintained and the roof leaked constantly when it rained all the time. I rented it thinking if I don't die climbing up, I will come down stronger and at that time I didn't know what other limitations it was coming with. The property went up quite a bit beyond the section of the house that I rented. At the top of the hill there was basically all jungle, overgrown, but there was a swing up hill along with a hammock and I used to go up there and watch the view of the ocean. One day I thought I would just go up and draw and paint and thats where this painting was started. After I got done half way, I could not take the mosquitos anymore so I had to finish off this painting quickly and instead of doing it from a photograph I decided to make it into an abstract in the spur of the moment and actually I liked the way it came out eventually.
