Artist's Description

This abstract piece of art was created in a spirit of fun as I got to draw with some new colored pens that my friend let me use. Its always fun to create in new medium as it comes out different than one is used to. Every time, I work with new medium, its a learning process to figure out how to make the medium work for me for what I want it to do.

In Hawaiian mythology, the Menehune [pronounced meh-neh-HOO-neh] are said to be a mischievous, magical, little people, but very skilled, with a supernatural strength, sometimes described as dwarfs in size, who live in the deep forests, hidden valleys the mountains of Pu'ukapele ("Hills of Pele") of the Hawaiian Islands, far from the eyes of normal humans. They come out mostly at night to play tricks on people, or to serve them if they feel that way inclined. The mythology of the Menehune is as old as the beginnings of Polynesian history. I was born in small town in India, at the border of a northwestern desert state of Rajasthan. At an early age, the vibrant colors and sweet melodies of nature and nomadic gypsies, called Banjaras, influencing my inner as well as outer world. My Banjara existence yearned for stability, at least in my inner being as I found it nonexistent in the outer world for obvious reasons of inherent uncertainty, being the very nature of our physical material world.
