Drawing - Drawing On Strathmore Smooth Paper
Description
This drawing was done in pencil colors on a 11 x 11" Strathmor Smooth paper. I really had fun creating this piece of art. The color and the whole design was very intuitive, spontaneous and meditative. I especially love to draw the lines and see where they take me and modulating them in different ways creates more of a 3 D effect like a topography. As before, Lotus is a symbol of peace and enlightenment in hindu and buddhist mythology and is connected with all the major Gods and Goddesses and Buddha himself. There are stories in Jatak Katha about the elephants and lotus and birds as well. In all for me this is a very spiritual piece, an artistic expression of my own soul and spirit which is my religion, I can say. I did not see the elephant and the bird as I was creating this piece, as I started drawing this without agenda or any plan, it evolved as it grew. Then suddenly, I was able to sense the presence of the elephant and birds that I made more prominent later. Hope you will enjoy this work and feel as I feel about it.
